This is the kind of book you will be tempted to read in one setting. However, you should resist that temptation in order to spend time with the concepts presented on each page. Sacred Space reads like a classic in Christian literature. The one thing you will glean from this book is your need to have a place that can be your “sacred space” where you and God meet.

John Duncan, writing with a scholar’s pen and a pastor’s heart, has unwrapped an amazing gift for the reader. He has the ability to weave the words from the classics into a tapestry colored by today’s world.

Sacred Space is a book for those who feel bottle-necked, overloaded, trapped... in other words—all of us. If your soul has been damaged by an overloaded schedule, an over-technologized mind that pushed aside time for the sacred, and an over-hyped consumer church that marginalized the sacred (Christ, the cross and the resurrection) you will find help on these pages.

Sometimes the only thing that will help you draw closer to God is to find a Sacred Space where you can hear His voice. In this book, John Duncan offers fresh insight into the timeless truth about the necessity of being with God in the stillness. As you live with the pages of this book you will discover a new resource in your spiritual walk.

We need to slow down and make room for sacred space to renew our vision for life and our enthusiasm for living for Christ. The damaged soul can only find renewal when time given to the sacred opens hearts and minds to the joy of Christ.

Be still and know that He is God.
